Turmeric (Haldi)

Turmeric (Haldi) is a miracle spice that chooses every Indian household in masala-box (spice-rack). It is used significantly in Indian cultural, religious, and medicinal practices. It is a common dietary supplement in India and is often used with other spices to get its optimal health benefits. Every part of this herbaceous plant is useful and edible, though roots are widely consumed in Indian cuisines: curries-daal-rice, soups-chutneys-pickles, sweets. Leaves are mainly consumed as heat & flavor intensified and preservative.

The ancient HealthCare system of Ayurveda considered turmeric a Golden Spice, a potent ingredient for head-to-toe remedies. It is blessed with 200+ active components offering countless advantages – supports digestion, lowers blood sugar and cholesterol, treats cold, fever, cleanses the entire body, maintains digestive fire, and balances Tridosha. Curcumin and curcuminoids present in turmeric improve metabolism and regulate blood circulation so that the human organ systems function efficiently for the ‘Young & Healthy’ long-life. Curcumin acts as an antitumor agent that helps destroy free radicals and prevents platelets clotting in blood vessels and fatigue. It acts as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiseptic that reduces inflammation, pain, oxidative stress, scarring, and clotting of the blood vessels, which affect heart function. Such medicinal properties lower the risk of 3 main groups of chronic lung diseases:

  • Airway diseases, eg., asthma, bronchiectasis, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
  • Lung tissue diseases, eg., pulmonary fibrosis and sarcoidosis
  • Lung circulation diseases, eg., hypertension.

It has been proven that turmeric’s proper consumption is vital for our healthy brain, heart, lungs, liver, joints, skin, hair, throat, and teeth for thousands of years.

BLACK PEPPER

Black pepper contains an active ingredient, Piperine, an active tonic for cold, cough, and flu. It is well-known for its healing and balancing nature. It is also an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant spice that cures stomach ulcers, improves blood circulation and brain functions. It brings taste to food and supports the metabolic systems of our body. It detoxifies our body and helps to establish Tridosha balance to regain health. It pairs well with the purpose of turmeric in many Ayurvedic remedies. It incredibly boosts the absorption of curcumin, which is not soluble in water!

GHEE

Ghee is called ‘Liquid Gold,’ a rejuvenating food supplement that absorbs nutrients from our body without toxins. It has numerous health benefits; it enhances immunity, effective healing, and soothing effects on the body, acts as a disinfectant, supports cell growth, increases reproductive abilities, and maintains bones’ health. Thus, it works brilliantly on Tridosha balancing. It calms sore throat if added into hot water or milk-based drinks, giving relief from cough & cold and provides energy. In Ayurveda practices, ghee is the main food ingredient vs. other fats options. Curcumin is a fat-soluble substance, so it is advisable to use turmeric with a small amount of a specific milk fat, ghee.
